IPL Betting on Playinexch
The IPL is the busiest cricket period of the year on Playinexch. Every match carries pre-match markets, a full in-play book, and session markets that open and close around each innings. Odds come from our own trading desk and move in real time with every delivery.
This page covers the markets we list for the IPL, what each one means, and the rules you should know before placing a bet. For a broader cricket view across formats, see our cricket page.
IPL markets we list
Pick either team to win. The simplest market.
Who wins the toss. Settled before the first ball.
Total runs in each innings as a line (over/under).
Runs in a specified set of overs (6, 10, 15, 20).
Highest scorer in a specified team’s innings.
Most wickets by a bowler in the match.
Fours and sixes by a specified batsman.
Specific wicket number falls in a given over range.
Full market lists are visible on each match page once odds are live. Markets may open, suspend, or close during an over depending on what is happening on the pitch.
How exchange odds move
Playinexch is a betting exchange, which means prices come from both back and lay orders in the market rather than a bookmaker’s fixed line. Odds move faster than a traditional sportsbook, especially during live play. A boundary in the powerplay or a wicket in the death overs shifts the match-winner odds within seconds.
For IPL fans this is a feature, not a bug. The faster the market, the sharper the price. If you understand what is happening on the pitch, you can usually find a better price on the exchange than on a traditional book. That cuts both ways though: a weak read of the game gets punished faster.
Tournament format awareness
IPL match conditions change through the tournament. Early-season pitches at Chennai and Delhi play differently from mid-season Mumbai and Kolkata. Dew becomes a factor in evening fixtures from late April. Playoff conditions tighten everything: markets move faster, lower-ranked teams become unpredictable, and favourites do not always win.
Our match previews on the blog and the cricket tips page try to call these out before the market reacts.
